Yeast Experiment

This was SO much fun! There sure were tons of whoa mom this is so totally awesome! hehe;) This is just one of the many many reasons why we SO love My Fathers World!;)

(Our supplies( yeast, glass soda bottle, balloon)

(Girls measuring out the yeast and sugar)

(The yeast in hot water and then drawing to the sugar as it was poured in)

(Pouring the mixture into the bottle * Morgan took this picture;)

The bottle was then placed in a dark location and this is what we seen after 8 minutes;)

This is what we seen after 15 minutes
And then 30 minutes!

What happened? The yeast uses sugar as food, and this produces a gas called carbon dioxide. You can't see carbon dioxide. It is a colorless and odorless gas. The carbon dioxide gas in bread dough helps the bread grow up and out. This is what makes bread rise;) Awesome huh?
